Elevate: Your Health. A Day of Courage, Connection, and Community

There are some days that leave a lasting imprint, that settle into your bones in the best way. Elevate: Your Health was one of those days.

On Friday, July 25th, women from all walks of life gathered at the beautiful Errick’s Venue in Ōtepoti Dunedin to pause, breathe, and lean into the real, raw kōrero that so often goes unspoken when it comes to our wellbeing. And what unfolded was nothing short of extraordinary.

From the moment the doors opened, the energy was warm, welcoming, and filled with anticipation. There was laughter between strangers-turned-friends over morning coffee, hugs shared with familiar faces, and a quiet understanding in the room, we were here to go deeper. Not into perfection or performance, but into something far more powerful: truth.

Together, we explored the many layers of health and wellbeing, from hormones and mental health to identity, nourishment, purpose, and the elusive idea of balance. We heard from women who bravely shared their lived experiences and deep expertise. Their stories were rich with honesty, humour, wisdom, and the kind of clarity that comes only from walking through the fire and coming out stronger.

We moved our bodies gently and intentionally, thanks to the calm and grounded guidance of Jo Woolley. We were invited into deep rest and reflection through the soothing sound journey with Alex Georgeou from Beyond Balance, whose presence continues to be a gift to this space.

Our speakers- Dr. Deb Brunt and Maya Captijn, Alice and Sharon from Purple Carrot, Dr. Jennifer Dustow, and Jonny Mirkin from Givenwell, each brought a different lens to wellbeing. And then, of course, Harriet Moir brought the house down with her brilliant, bold, and wildly relatable storytelling, closing our day with the kind of laughter that shakes something loose inside you (in the best possible way).

Every element of the day, from the nourishing food crafted by Gary & Lola’s, to the beautiful styling and signage by Remotelea Creative, and the effortless magic of Errick’s Venue, helped us create something that felt more like a community retreat than just another event. A place where women could be themselves. Ask questions. Take up space. And feel deeply, truly seen.

We are deeply grateful to our lead sponsor, Givenwell, for believing in our mission and helping us bring this event to life. Their commitment to workplace wellbeing and people-first solutions is inspiring, and we were honoured to share their mahi with our audience.

To every woman who came, whether you were in the front row taking notes, hanging back with a quiet cuppa, or speaking your truth at your table, thank you. Thank you for showing up. For sharing your energy. For trusting us with your time and your presence.

Elevate: Your Health reminded us of something important: that wellbeing is not a destination or a perfect routine. It’s a deeply human journey, one that’s richer and more possible when we walk it together.

With deep gratitude,
The Elevate Mind + Business Team
