Two Years of Elevate: A Love Letter to the Women Who Built This With Us
If you had told the four of us (Becky, Alana, Ngahuia and Kerry) two years ago that a scrappy little idea tossed around over coffee would transform into a movement… we probably would’ve laughed, shrugged, and said something like, “Imagine though?”.
And then, quite beautifully, you proved it possible.
Elevate Mind in Business began with nothing more than a shared belief that women deserved a space where ambition and vulnerability could sit at the same table. A place where the big ideas were celebrated, the messy middles were normalised, and the tiny wins were treated like gold. What unfolded over the next two years was beyond anything we imagined.
The Magic We Created Together
Six incredible events. Countless Café & Connect mornings. Hundreds of conversations that changed us. Connections that spun into collaborations, friendships, clients, confidence, clarity, and courage.
We watched women walk into rooms feeling unsure… and leave with notebooks full of plans, phones full of contacts, and hearts full of possibility.
We watched ideas spark and careers grow.
We watched women take brave steps- some tiny, some absolutely seismic.
We watched dreams that had been sitting quietly in notebooks finally take their first breath.
What Elevate became was never about us. It was always, always, about you.
Why We’re Saying Goodbye
Ending Elevate was not a decision made lightly. There were group chats, long talks, tears, laughs, and a deep reflection on what this community has meant. But here’s the truth: Elevate grew big, fast, and beautifully… and with that came an equally big commitment. As our personal lives and independent businesses expand, each of us needs space to pour into the things and people who matter most to us- our whānau, our clients, our creative work, and our own growth.
We aren’t ending because we’re burnt out or disheartened. We’re ending because we love this community too much to let it become something we can’t give fully to.We’re ending with pride, gratitude, and a heart full of the magic you brought into every space we curated.
And the best news? This is not the end of us- the four women behind Elevate. Our friendship is stitched into the foundation of everything we built And we’ll keep cheering for each other (and for you) long after Elevate closes its doors.
Where You’ll Still Find Us
Elevate may be finishing, but we’re each just getting started.
Becky: Mortgage Advisor, Co-Owner of Mortgage Me & Host of Broke to Brilliant
The steady voice of reason in Elevate, the financial fairy godmother, and the woman who somehow makes mortgages feel… comforting? Becky is continuing to do what she does best: helping women understand their finances, build strong foundations, and create futures they’re proud of. Through Mortgage Me, she’s guiding clients through some of life’s biggest decisions with heart, humour, and calm clarity. And on her podcast Broke to Brilliant, she’s talking openly about money, mindset, and the real stories behind financial wellbeing, the kind of conversations that empower women to take charge of their lives without shame or confusion.
She’ll still be cheering loudly for every woman in this community, shining a light on financial confidence, and helping people move from “I hope I can” to “I absolutely will.”
Alana: Real Estate Agent at Bayleys, Connector, Listener & Quiet Lightning Bolt
Alana has always been the steady pulse in Elevate, the one who listens deeply, sees people clearly, and reminds us that success is as much about who we are as what we achieve. As she steps forward from Elevate, she’s pouring that same heart into her work at Bayleys, building a real estate brand rooted in trust, integrity, and relationships that last far beyond a sale sign. She’s growing a business that doesn’t just look good on paper, but feels good, aligned with her values, grounded in genuine connection, and strengthened by her commitment to personal growth. What she brings to every client is rare: calm honesty, thoughtful strategy, and a wholehearted belief in helping people reach their goals without losing themselves along the way.
She’s still cheering for the women in this community, still holding space for real conversations, and still walking her path with both ambition and softness. If you want someone in your corner who leads with purpose and heart, Alana is that woman.
Ngahuia: Brand & Web Designer at Inspiring Design, Creative Mentor & Full-Force Powerhouse
If Elevate had a creative heartbeat, it was Ngahuia. Bold, unstoppable, wildly talented, and unafraid to turn an idea into something real. She didn’t just bring creativity to Elevate… she brought fire, courage, laughter, and a wave of “let’s make it happen” energy that lifted everyone around her. As she steps into her next chapter, she’s taking Inspiring Design into a whole new era. Nearly ten years in business, and she’s only getting started. She’s shifted her focus to working with artists and creatives, teaching them how to build powerful online portfolios, how to tell their stories, and how to back themselves with confidence.
Her studio is growing into a full creative hub, a place where artists can design, create, photograph, and build their online presence with support that feels like a warm, relentless cheer squad. If you’re a creative who wants guidance, clarity, or someone who will fiercely champion your work, Ngahuia is your woman, full of heart, full of energy, and fully committed to helping artists rise.
Kerry: Photographer, Storyteller, Creative & huge Hype Girl of Women’s Stories
Kerry was the soul of Elevate- the storyteller, memory-maker, and woman who helped us all see ourselves more clearly. Between photographing women in their power and raising two brilliant boys, she discovered she could do the impossible: stand on stage, speak with confidence, and lead with a voice that people needed.
Now, at Kerry Hodge Photography, she’s capturing brands, creatives, and women in their truth, showing not just polished moments, but the strength, softness, and grit beneath. She helps businesses shine online, teaching them how to use their content, and weaving storytelling into imagery that feels alive and honest.
Still urging women to “just do the thing,” and showing up with humour, heart, and courage, Kerry is the woman behind images that are as real as your story, your heartbeat, your business.
What We Learned (Because You Taught Us)
We learned that women are unstoppable when they’re supported.
We learned that vulnerability isn’t weakness, it’s leadership.
We learned that you can be terrified and still take the mic.
We learned that connection can change the trajectory of someone’s life.
We learned that ideas become reality when they’re held by a village.
And most of all, we learned that community is not built by events. It’s built by people. By you.
Thank You for Walking Beside Us
Elevate was never just events. It was courage. It was community. It was collective growth.
It was a movement created by women who believed in each other.
We are deeply proud of what we built, but we are even more proud of you, for what you built inside yourself. Thank you for every ticket, every smile, every brave share, and every conversation that stitched this community together.
This is farewell to Elevate… but not to each other.
With all our love,
Becky, Alana, Ngahuia & Kerry
